The Lord Mayor’s Show in London had a local flavour this year as Kellswater Band travelled from the Borough to take part in the famous spectacle which is watched by half a million people on the streets of London and broadcast live by the BBC.

The parade itself is 3 miles long and has around 6000 participants, including Military bands, the armed services, floats and dancers.

The procession began at The Mansion House went past St Paul’s Cathedral and along Fleet St to the Royal Courts of Justice, after a short break for lunch the pageant set off again to take the new Lord Mayor back to the Mansion House.

The Band’s youngest member on parade was 8 year old Emma Swan, founder member Jack Mc Kee also travelled to the event.

On Sunday morning the Band attended the Remembrance Ceremony at Whitehall before returning to Northern Ireland.
